Capricorn Full Moon
July Full Moon
July 5th is the full moon in Capricorn with a lunar eclipse which makes it the 3rd moon in a row with an eclipse. We also had the Parade of Planets last night where I believe all the planets aligned and hopefully some of you were able to catch that with telescopes and tools.
Everything has been feeling so intense lately and this moon isn’t any different I am sad to say. We had about 6 planets in retro the other day and while we are slowly getting out of the energy of the ones that went direct there is a lot happening around us and it is hard to keep track.
With this full moon really take some time and sit and release, if you only use one full moon to release this year make it this one!
Capricorn is such an interesting energy, they are the rule keepers, are ridged in the order of things, and yet they feel deeply.
The energy around the Capricorn full moon is repressed and resigned. We tend to feel like we can’t catch a break and that is just the way it is because things are as they are for a reason and we cannot change them. We know this is not the truth and yet it is easy to get sucked into this way of thinking.
Release
Full moons are all about releasing and letting go, this one we are encouraged to look at letting go of control, controlling everything, everyone, and even controlling ourselves. It is good for us to cut loose and let go every so often as long as it is done safely and in a healthy way.
I often suggest releasing with a bath or a shower (and I stand by that still), I would really encourage releasing with movement, dance, run, bike, or just be silly in someway. This moon feels like it needs ACTION!
When the dance party is done write down where you need to forgive yourself and others, things you do not want to carry forward, and this you want to change. When you are done safely burn the list and release it into the universe (if burning is not an option you can tear it up and place it in the compost or recycling).
Balance
Capricorns try to have it all a fulfilling career and an amazing family life but in the process of trying to have both exactly perfect and they way they want it they end up sacrificing somewhere or creating places that are stressful instead of enjoyable or welcoming.
Find the balance in your life between what is work and what is home. Still working from home or trying to catch up after not being in the office for most of the lock down? Make sure you keep set hours and have firm boundaries. Work when you have set your work time and be present with your family when it is family time.
Journaling
Grab your moon journal and use these questions as prompts or use your own.
- Where have you been too focused on your ambition and it has harmed those you care about?
- Have I been over focusing on my work and neglecting other parts of my personal life?
- Have I been hard on others, myself, or stubborn?
- Where could I be following my heart more?
- Have I been over or under planning my life?
Get it all out on paper and sit with how it makes you feel and then release the emotions again!
